Aces, Your Queen Awaits.

Looking for someplace to release the tensions of the exam? Looking for somewhere to prepare yourself for the college life to come? Wanting to feel like a member of the collegiate club Le Table Elitaire? You've came to the right place.

Prom is simple. An evening you come, you bring a date, you enjoy yourself, and then you leave with a happy memory to tell your children. Think about it, most proms you hear in this vicinity go by the name of "A night you remember", "A midsummer's reminiscence", along with the cliches, but what we bring to you this year, on the 17th of December, is something new, an outlandish experience: Ace and Queens.

Dress like the upper class, along with your gambler smile and hot girlfriend; Speak like you own the half of Las Vegas; and enjoy like you see no future. Now, all I require of you is to find a place to start. Just by booking a seat with Ace, and making payment as soon as possible, you would live to feel this experience.

Strictly formal, white, red and black are advisable.

Strictly no jeans allowed. People wearing jeans will not be granted entry into the ballroom
Strictly no tee-shirts allowed. People wearing tee-shirts, similarly, will not be granted entry too.

Last but not least, it's a formal event, meaning ties, collars and slacks.

Entry Fee:
Normal Rate - RM85 (one person only)
Couple Rate - RM160
Early Bird - RM 75 (one person only)
Early Bird Couple - RM 150

P/S: No actual gambling will be done on the night itself, obviously.
: Contact Min Xian, Denise Leom or Lok Rikhai for further enquiry.
P/P/S: THIS PROM, as I, Ace, have mentioned many times before in this article, IS A FORMAL EVENT.

Early Bird

The last day to get the early bird rate is Wednesday(14th of October). Anyone who purchases tickets after that date will no longer get the early bird rate and will be charged the normal rate.

Please take note :
For people paying on or before the 14th of October, it would be RM 75, but if your date were to purchase a ticket after you, it would be RM 85, not RM 80, though special arrangements could be made so both parties would be able to enjoy the prom together for the night.

Age Requirement

Since many questions have been asked regarding the age limit of people who wish to attend this prom, I decided to dedicate a whole post to it just for clarification purposes.

Minimal age requirement is 15, though people given birth on year 1994 will be granted access (even if their birthday has not come to pass) provided they purchased a ticket. However, if people younger than age 15 have dates who meet the age requirement, they will be granted entrance(provided they purchase a ticket and attained permission from the committee for their date).

Maximum age requirement is 17. Form 5 students who are older than 17 and can prove their status as a Form 5 student will also be granted entrance. However, if people older than the age 17 or are no longer in school have dates who meet the age requirement, they will be granted entrance(provided if they purchase a ticket and attained permission from the committee for their date).

Any single person(s) who do not meet the age requirements will not be granted entrance and will not be allowed to purchase tickets. Any couple who does not meet the age requirements will not be granted entrance as well.

Any personnel who exceeds or has not achieved the age requirement and has not obtained permission from the committee will not be granted entry into the ballroom.

We, the committee, would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused in advance.

Performances & Activities

The itinerary of the prom is still underway and we would like our guests, as well as our would-be-guests to know that this Prom, Queens & Aces, is confirmed.

The deposit and everything else, which has to be done in order to secure the Ballroom of Summit Hotel on the 17th of December, has already been taken care of by the committee and now, what we lack is your support.

We would like to assure you that this prom will not be canceled unless unforeseen circumstances i.e. being clamped down by authorities for organizing a prom depicting various elements of gambling arises, which is highly unlikely.

However, the committee would like to inform you that there would be dances, as in waltz on the night of the prom. The committee would also hire a DJ provided there are enough guests.

Besides that, there will also be performances by dancers from SMK SU, band performances by students from SMK USJ 12, maybe dancers from SMK USJ 4, and others.

A Poetic Perspective

It is often that time of the year where erudition pays off through papers, and where emancipation stands as a threshold to adulthood. It is also when books find a place in dustbins, and where Aces draw the next card in hope for a royal flush. And the question arises: Where to start?

Embark us on a journey to Las Vegas, isolated in the middle of Nevada, where gambling speaks of no mercy and where decadence displeases not the Gods above. Crimson red, velvet ropes making a statement; faux decor inventing a facade so surreal; roulette tables spinning us from adolescent parlance to nouveau riche businessmen conferences, I, myself, am lost to such panorama.

Imagine this, you are in an Ermenegildo Zegna suit, partially buttoned to the lapels, your hands intertwined to a lookalike, abstract, singularly defined version of a Queen, your Queen, the Queen of Hearts, gowned in Marc Jacobs, held unto her hands a Chanel diamond studded clutch, greeted on the doorways of Summit Hotel, arriving like an epicurean on a chauffeur driven limousine. Where more can you procure to such?

Wish your financial constrains a goodbye and say hello to only 85MYR an evening you cease to forget. And for those not flying solo, fly in with your Queen for a feasible price of 160MYR. Now, with these epithets on fragmented prospective experiences in just words: Allow the Lord Epicurus to guide you on a raft of happy living.

In biblical times, destiny is often delivered in the form of stone tablets or a burning bush, but today destiny lies on an embossed, virtual, LCD screen, which begins with your decision to make. It's a destiny, your destiny; a decision, your decision; a night, your night. A night you'll live to tell your future children, who knows, it could be with the queen of your dreams whom you might just find in "Las Vegas", perhaps.

Purchase Your Tickets Now!

Alas! Tickets are available, tables are lain, coquettish waiters: a beauty they limn. A receptionist sits behind a concierge desk, hands holding onto a stack of tickets; behind her lies a mise en scene so unique, so new, so beyond word play. A queue forms and awaits everyone virtuously for their turn into an evening to gamble for. Now, where do you want to be? The mise en scene? Or the queue? If so, what delays thee? Book early to receive privileges.

(Terms and Conditions)

  • Upon purchasing/redeeming your tickets, provide your contact details (i.e. handphone number, and full name) on a piece of paper and hand it to the ticket seller.
  • Tickets purchased are nontransferable.
  • Tickets purchased are not refundable unless complications occur.
  • There will be a numbered arrangement; seats are limited.
  • Tickets are coded with seat numbers and are not subjected to last minute changes
  • A total of 10 seats per table are available. The management comittee recommends, to avoid seated with strangers and ineluctable awkward hours, booking/purchase a table in whole is adviced.
  • You may request for a specified seat. The management comittee however is not responsible for any undesirable events.
  • Tickets and seats sold are subject to change without prior notice.
  • The management committee under any circumstances is not held liable for losses during the dinner.
  • The management committee exhorts for punctuality in ticket collection.
  • Couple tickets will only be sold to BGRs(Boy Girl Relationships). However, if one were to prove the legitimacy of being in a homosexual relationship, tickets will be sold. Please note, this is in no discouragement or discrimination to disallowing homosexuals to this event, but to prevent fraudulent transactions.
  • All ticket sales are final and people who are evicted will not be refunded.

Rules & Regulations

The committee of Queens & Aces would like to inform guests that:

  • It is a prom, not a party - no liquor is allowed.
  • It is a prom, not a party - it's a non-smoking event.
  • It is a prom, not a party - there are protocols and regulations which have to be followed, no causing any form of chaos, havoc, or trouble.
Violators WOULD be evicted, or in layman's terms, kicked out.

A Caveat From the Committee

Please, to those kind souls out there who, are nice enough to advertise this blog and prom for us, we extend our greatest gratitude and we can't thank you enough for doing it for us, for free.

That's where our gratitude ends.

I, Ace, would like to inform every single one of you out there, to people who have already advertised it on their blogs or through word of mouth, that this Prom is NOT, I repeat, NOT organized by SMK USJ 12.

Please, do NOT disseminate falsified information such as the above and in no way should you anyone of you associate this prom with the school mentioned above, lest getting the committee into trouble.

I would like to thank all of you in advance for your co-operation.

Ace.
